Parents:

  • Are you sick of feeling like you are blowing it all the time? You know the feeling when you leave an interaction with your teen and think “Well that sure didn’t go very well?”

  • Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could have conversations that created a greater sense of trust and understanding with your teen?

  • How about that fight you tend to repeatedly get into with your partner every time your teen challenges you with some new request or behavior? It’s exhausting.

  • If any of the statements seem familiar to you, consider coming to our Hold Me Tight® / Let Me Go family weekend workshop.

About the Hold Me Tight® / Let Me Go Program

  • Drs. Paul and Nancy Aikin, clinical psychologists and Co-Directors of the Sacramento-Davis EFT Center designed the workshop to utilize Dr. Sue Johnson’s empirically validated concepts of love modified to fit the love and relationships in families. This is an educational, enrichment program designed to strengthen the bonds between teens and parents. With the help of exercises, structured conversations, and group support, families will grow appreciation of how to rely on each other. This workshop is for families with teens between the ages of 13 and 19.

  • During these teen years, it is normal for families to have times of difficulty getting along. This is an opportunity for families to talk – to figure out how to work better together.  The workshop is a time for parents and teens to learn from one another that they are not alone in their challenges.

Hold Me Tight® / Let Me Go is a two day workshop

  • Friday evening, we will meet with parents only, to discuss and help them to not turn against one another, but to unite as a team.

  • On Saturday, the teens will join.  With group support the teens will have the opportunity to communicate about their experience guided by structured exercises.
