Conditions We Treat With Individual Therapy
Individual therapy can help with virtually any condition or issue someone is faced with. Whether it be lifelong depression and anxiety, coming to terms with one’s sexuality, or simply wanting to better yourself and get more out of life, therapy is an invaluable resource. Here are some of the conditions we treat with individual therapy at Mettarel:
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by attention deficit, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness. Additionally, patients often experience a lack of motivation, chronic procrastination, difficulty completing tasks, anxiety, and difficulty within relationships. ADHD can have a significant impact on one's quality of life if not properly managed through therapy and lifestyle changes.
Anxiety manifests itself as excessive feelings of tension, unease, uncertainty, hypervigilance, fear, and worried or negative thoughts. Common anxiety disorders include generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and social phobia. Therapy is a great way to uncover the root cause of your anxiety and learn coping strategies to manage symptoms.
Depression is a mood disorder that causes sadness, hopelessness, loss of interest in activities, and withdrawal from everyday life. These intense feelings of sadness can greatly interfere with one's daily thoughts, behaviors, and actions and negatively impact their quality of life. At Mettarel, we utilize evidence-based therapeutic treatments to help patients get to the root of their depression and implement positive changes.
Stress & Life Transitions
Many of us encounter a variety of stressors throughout everyday life. Work demands, financial difficulties, health concerns, relationship conflicts, and significant change can trigger stress and anxiety. Individual therapy can help you open up about issues, manage stress levels, and feel much-needed relief.
Therapy can be a valuable resource for anyone feeling stuck or dissatisfied in their personal or professional life. Whether it's self-doubt, lack of direction, or commitment issues, a therapist can closely work with you to identify these limiting beliefs and develop strategies for lasting change.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
What to Expect From Therapy in Seattle, WA
During your initial session, your therapist will first ask some standard questions about your background, the issues you are facing, and what you hope to achieve in therapy. You can trust that they will spend ample time getting to know who you are and what your struggles entail. Make sure to come in with an open mind and know that you can speak freely, without judgment. After getting to know you on a deeper level, they’ll design a recommended treatment plan that puts you on the path to achieving your goals and overcoming your mental health struggles.
